Essential Duas for Hajj & Umrah

1 . Dua for Intention (Niyyah) Before Hajj & Umrah

Before beginning your sacred journey, it’s essential to make a sincere intention (niyyah) and seek acceptance from Allah.

🕌 Dua for Niyyah:
اللّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أُرِيْدُ الْعُمْرَةَ فَيَسِّرْهَا لِي وَتَقَبَّلْهَا مِنِّي

Transliteration: Allahumma inni uridu al-‘umrata fa-yassirha li wa taqabbalha minni.
Meaning: O Allah, I intend to perform Umrah, so make it easy for me and accept it from me.

2 . Dua for Entering the State of Ihram

Before crossing the Miqat (designated boundary for Ihram), pilgrims should recite the Talbiyah:

📢 Talbiyah:
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالمُلْكَ، لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ

Transliteration:
Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, innal-hamda wan-ni’mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak.

Meaning:
"Here I am, O Allah, here I am! You have no partner; here I am! Verily, all praise and blessings belong to You, and so does the sovereignty. You have no partner."

🔹 Note: Recite this frequently from the moment you enter Ihram until you reach the Kaaba.

3 . Dua for Entering Masjid al-Haram (Kaaba)

Upon arriving at Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, say:

🏛 Dua:
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

Transliteration: Allahumma aftah li abwaba rahmatika.
Meaning: O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.

4 . Dua While Seeing the Kaaba for the First Time

📖 Dua:
اللَّهُمَّ زِدْ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ تَشْرِيفًا وَتَعْظِيمًا وَتَكْرِيمًا وَمَهَابَةً

Transliteration:
Allahumma zid hadha al-bayta tashrifan wa ta’ziman wa takriman wa mahabatan.

Meaning:
O Allah, increase this House (Kaaba) in honor, nobility, respect, and awe.
🔹 Tip: At this moment, make personal supplications as it is a time when prayers are accepted.

5 . Dua for Tawaf (Circumambulation of the Kaaba)

As you start Tawaf, recite:

🕋 Dua:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيْمَانًا بِكَ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِكِتَابِكَ وَوَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ وَاتِّبَاعًا لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ

Transliteration:
Bismillah wallahu Akbar, Allahumma imanan bika wa tasdiqan bikitabika wa wafaa’an bi ‘ahdika wattiba’an li sunnati nabiyyika Muhammad ﷺ.

Meaning:
In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, I believe in You, affirm Your Book, fulfill my covenant with You, and follow the Sunnah of Your Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
